A source does not appear

Confirm the drive is mounted and macOS allows reading the selected folder. Finish copying footage before preparing it. Reconnect an existing source when its location has changed instead of adding repeated copies of the same library.

A clip fails preparation

Inspect the per-file status. Current discovery includes MP4, MOV, and M4V, while readability depends on macOS media support. Try another known-readable clip. Corrupt files, unavailable originals, permissions, or unsupported codecs can prevent previews.

Pause and resume an interrupted queue. Use a rescan after source changes, and retry failed files when their cause is resolved. The catalog preserves valid completed work.

Search returns no useful match

Reset filters and confirm the selected source. Use Metadata for filenames/paths and Visual for scene descriptions. Visual search needs a prepared frame index.

The initial visual index samples twelve frames per clip. A brief event may not be present in any sample. Results can be ranked even without a strong match. Inspect the returned frame and use original playback when available.

A visible clip will not play

Check its original drive. Cached previews remain visible when source media is unavailable, but they cannot provide original playback. Reconnect the source or restore your independently backed-up original.

An agent will not connect

Confirm the app’s server says Running and that the client uses its current endpoint and port. Merge configurations rather than replacing them. The local server needs no app token. A remote tunnel requires its own access policy; see MCP setup.

Known prototype boundaries

  • Discover and Shotlists remain in development and are outside the website’s available-feature claims.
  • Contact-sheet image/PDF export, cloud sync, shared team catalogs, and a conventional editing timeline are not included.
  • Public checkout, final licence terms, and a signed/notarized installer remain pending.
  • Apple Silicon (M1 or later) is required; Intel Macs are not supported. Earlier macOS runtimes and much larger footage libraries need further verification.
  • An actual Claude Desktop session remains unverified despite successful native-bridge checks.
