The core footage workflow
B-Roll Archives reads the folders and drives you connect. Original footage stays in place. The app stores its catalog, sampled previews, available metadata, and visual index on your Mac.
Core contact-sheet preparation, browsing, and visual search run locally. Footage and visual-search descriptions are not sent to a model API for those operations. Cached previews remain on the Mac when an original drive is disconnected.
Agent connections
The optional MCP server listens on the Mac’s loopback address. Its read-only tools can return catalog information, contact-sheet images, sampled frames, and timestamp links to connected clients. Keep the app open while connected.
An external agent may send retrieved text or images to its provider according to that service’s settings and terms. If you expose the server through a tunnel, access controls are managed by your tunnel provider. Local processing in the app does not mean external agent processing is local.
Licensing and update checks
Public checkout and licensing configuration are pending. The app contains integration with Lemon Squeezy’s licence service and stores activation information in macOS Keychain. Once configured, activation, validation, and deactivation require communication with that service; final public licence terms will be documented before sales begin.
Manual update checks contact the configured update manifest when you choose Check for Updates. A verified download link opens in a browser. The prototype’s public update and download URLs are not configured yet.
This website
This is a static product website. It has no account, footage upload, or footage-search service. Our hosting provider, Cloudflare Pages, may process routine request and security data such as IP address, browser information, and requested URL. See Cloudflare’s privacy policy.
Your appearance preference is stored in your browser as broll.theme.
The recorded demo loads YouTube only when you activate its preview. Playback uses YouTube’s privacy-enhanced player and sends connection and playback information to YouTube. This choice is separate from allowing website analytics. See Google’s privacy policy.
Optional website analytics is currently disabled. No Google Analytics script loads from this site in this build. If measurement is enabled later, it will require your choice before loading and this page will describe it.
A download-link click does not establish that an installer download completed or that the app was installed.
Support correspondence
If you email us, we receive the information you choose to include and use it to respond. Avoid sending footage, personal paths, or licence keys unless there is a specific need to share them.
