Connect
- Start the server in B-Roll Archives and keep the app open.
- Choose Copy Codex config in Agent connections.
- Merge the copied table into
~/.codex/config.toml. Update an existing table of the same name rather than adding a duplicate. - Restart or reload Codex’s MCP connections.
For the default port:
[mcp_servers.broll_archives]
url = "http://127.0.0.1:8090/mcp"
Alternatively, the installed CLI supports:
codex mcp add broll_archives --url http://127.0.0.1:8090/mcp
codex mcp list
Use the actual port shown in the app. No bearer-token variable is needed for the local endpoint. This HTTP configuration follows OpenAI’s official MCP setup example.
Verify
Confirm the server appears, then ask for library statistics or a clip’s metadata. Prepare the visual index before scene searches. Discovery through the installed Codex app-server has been checked against this prototype; that does not establish every conversational workflow.
If tools are missing, check Running status, reload the connection, and preserve the rest of your Codex configuration. See MCP overview for the available tools and provider boundaries.
